Back to School BACKPACK DAYS: NOW through Aug. 13

We are collecting backpacks and school supplies for local children in need. please bring items in on

Sundays now through August 13 and place them in the baskets in the Narthex at the south entrance to the church. Or, come to the church office during business hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, except 12 noon to 2 p.m. when the office is closed. 

Some very grateful families in our community will now have students begin the school year happily equipped with your wonderful donations!

Dr. Michael Lennox to speak at both services May 7 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. workshop to follow

Psychologist, Astrologer and Dream Expert, Dr. Michael Lennox will be the guest speaker at both services May 7. He has been helping people have a deeper understanding of their unconscious mind for almost twenty years. In workshops, in the media, for private clientele, and on the internet, via his popular website www.michaellennox.com, Lennox guides people through life’s mysteries with a deep and profound wisdom, delivered through a humorous and extemporaneous style that has become his trademark.

A highly sought-after media expert, Dr. Lennox has been seen internationally on many television shows, beginning with the Sci Fi Network’s The Dream Team with Annabelle and Michael, in January 2003. Since then he has also been featured on numerous network and cable television venues including NBC’s Emmy award winning Starting Over, Soap Talk, The Wayne Brady Show and many others. His radio appearances, talking about the power of dreams, number in the hundreds.

Lennox obtained his masters and doctorate in psychology from The Chicago School in Los Angeles.

Astrology and Personality, his doctoral dissertation, is published by Lambert Academic Publishing out of Germany. Lennox is the author of two books on dreams, with a third to be published next fall. Dream Sight: A Dictionary & Guide for Interpreting Any Dream was published by Llewellyn 

Worldwide Press in 2011 and is now available in five languages. His second book, Llewellyn’s Complete Dream Dictionary came out in May of 2015.

The Little Book of Dreams is set to be released in September of 2017. Dr. Lennox leads workshops and retreats all over the United States and conducts a worldwide private practice based in Southern California.

They show up in storytelling, and we recognize them as characters in films and books; but they also live inside our own individual imaginations. When you learn how to recognize the archetypes with which you most identify, you can see how you operate in the world more clearly.

In this two-hour workshop, you will:

• Learn what defines archetypes and how they impact you.

• Discover what archetypes with which you most identify.

• Explore the ways in which you interact with your world through the archetypal lens.

• Consider changes in your approach in order to be more effective in your interactions.

The Reverend Cathy Norman, senior minister of Unity of Ventura California), will be our guest speaker at both 9:25 and 11 a.m.services on Mother’s Day, May 14.

For all who don’t know this , Cathy is our Rev. Nancy’s delightful daughter. In addition to being an inspiring speaker, she is knowledgeable, energetic and, like her mom, Cathy has a wonderful sense of humor.

Her mom is much blessed to have her here for Mother’s Day, and so are we!
